For the 8th consecutive year, the Applause Home Care team is lacing up our walking shoes for a cause that is incredibly close to our hearts: the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
And this year, we would love to have you walking beside us.
Whether you join our team for the walk, make a donation, or do both, every step and every contribution helps raise awareness, fund vital research, support families, and move us closer to a future without Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

ToggleWhy We Walk
At Applause Home Care, caring for older adults isn’t simply what we do. It’s about the relationships we build, the families we support, and the people whose lives become intertwined with ours.
Through our work in home care, we see the impact of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia up close. We see the changes individuals experience. We see family members navigating new roles and difficult decisions. We see the patience, strength, love, and support that dementia care requires.
For our CEO, Jim Prussak, raising awareness and supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s is deeply personal.
Helping older adults live with dignity, connection, and the greatest possible quality of life has been at the heart of Jim’s journey into home care. Participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is another way our Applause family can put those values into action.
For eight years, we have walked because we believe showing up matters.
We walk for our clients.
We walk for their families.
We walk for our Care Partners.
We walk for everyone who has watched someone they love face Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
And we walk with hope for what comes next.
The Impact of Alzheimer’s and Dementia
The numbers help illustrate just how many lives are touched by this disease:
- More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
- Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia.
- 1 in 3 older adults dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Health and long-term care costs for people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias are projected to reach $409 billion in 2026.
Behind every one of those statistics is a person, a family, a story, and a community of people who care about them.
That is why we keep walking.
Where Your Support Goes
The Alzheimer’s Association works to advance research, advocate for people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, and provide care and support to families across the country.
Funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer’s help fuel that work, including research toward new treatments, prevention strategies and, ultimately, a cure.
There is still much work to be done. But progress happens when people come together, raise their voices, support research, and refuse to stop moving forward.
Will You Walk With Us?
We invite our clients, families, Care Partners, friends, colleagues, referral partners, and neighbors throughout Northern New Jersey to become part of Team Applause Home Care.
